The slipcover.
What is it? |
The dictionary says a slipcover is a fitted removable cover for
a sofa or other piece of furniture.
Let's be honest. The 'one size fits all' slipcovers, at best, are ill-fitting
pieces of fabric strewn over an old sofa. The slipcover doesn't fit, needs to
be adjusted constantly, and is there because the owner can't bear to part with
a sofa bought only a few years ago. The sofa is either no longer in style, not
the right color, or worn out. It's not the solution most consumers are looking
for.
Custom fitted slipcovered furniture is different. Retailers now offer furniture
with the slipcover custom fitted to a sofa, loveseat, or other piece of furniture.
Instead of attaching the fabric to the frame, called upholstered furniture, the
fabric is made into a removable custom slipcover which fits perfectly. The 'frame'
is covered in a muslin fabric and made especially for the slipcover. It can be
removed, cleaned, or replaced without having to buy a new sofa, chair, or loveseat.
For these reasons, millions of people are buying slipcovered furniture.
Also, custom slipcovered furniture is comparable in price to traditional upholstered
furniture and dramatically more flexible...especially for furniture that gets
a lot of use. Families, in particular, value slipcovered furniture for the 'washability'
factor.
Nantuckit furniture company has taken the concept one step further. We keep our
slipcover patterns on file forever. If we stop selling your frame, you can order
a replacement slipcover, if desired. Other retailers don't make that commitment.
Finally, we guarantee
the frame forever. It's a combination that makes today's slipcovered furniture
the preferred choice for furniture that needs to stand the test of time. |
